lyrics

Flop era, everything dog eared, neoteny
Young soul, yet the mind's grey as a hound
Quarter life, quartz stone, tetrahedral silica
I let go of my silver anniversary
Late third decade on Earth, still uncertainty
Searching for my severed purpose, that sacred burden
Watching self through lightscreens
We are the burning ones, seraphim
Which secular God burned the forests? It wasn't me
Liar, complicit tongue weaves neoteny
Couldn't feel remorse whilst waiting for apology
I've been defanged by the disrespect

Free-falling onto swords of expectation
Never disarmed by earthly preservation
I appreciate the trust you bestowed, but my heart is hurricane (When that wind comes, I rise)
I love to labour lovingly, but in truth, the gust is calling me
I feel like a failure for lacking things I didn't even want
You didn't want me to be free (When that wind comes, I rise)

Shamed whilst swords overdosed the return
Shamed for labouring through lightscreens
Shamed for failure to seed neoteny
Shamed for open soul
Shamed for the winds which hold uncertainty
Shamed for worshiping that silicon hole
Shamed, blossomed, defanged, decomposing
Shamed for expectation
Shamed whilst earthly and frozen
Shameful decade of forest corrosion
Shameful Earth, her beautiful want
Shameful heart carries shameful burden
Shame weaves like a false apology
Shame in the complicit stomach
Shame for lacking hope
Shamed into dogmatic grief
Shamed into exile
Shamed into being controlled

I wasn't burned when the bridge collapsed
I met myself in the water
My sacred mind's numbing flesh felt the kiss of community
Another shoulder to fall on, wings to call on
The corrosive compassion swallowed shame
I became the temple of imperfection
I became the shameless shaman
I became myself
I was once sickened by the feast of my own obsession
Afraid to starve, instead I bloated
Until I truly asked, "Who am I beyond this heavy name?"
I defanged the sojourn to stomach a slow return
We are in transition until we fade away

Flop era, everything dog eared, neoteny
Young soul, yet the mind's grey as a hound
Quarter life, quartz stone, tetrahedral silica
I let go of my silver anniversary
Late third decade on Earth, still uncertainty
Searching for my severed purpose, that sacred burden
Watching self through lightscreens
We are the burning ones, seraphim
Which secular God burned the forests? It wasn't me
Liar, complicit tongue weaves neoteny
Couldn't feel remorse whilst waiting for apology
I've been defanged by the disrespect

Free-falling into the open arms of my family
Never disarmed by false accountability
I follow my heart to trust myself (When that wind comes, I rise)
I love to labour lovingly, and I accept the responsibility
It is an honour to be blessed with uncertainty
With space to blossom into beautiful imperfection (When that wind comes, I rise)
